Gluten Free Wine Dinner

Due to an overwhelming response to last month’s dinner, Burtons Grill in South Windsor will host a second gluten free wine dinner. On Monday, April 26, 2010 at 6:30PM join Burtons Grill of South Windsor and Nature’s Grocer in partnership with Healthy Villi for a specially prepared four-course gluten free wine dinner tailored to those suffering from gluten intolerance. Lay all of your diet concerns to rest as Burtons Grill, along with Bob and Sue Spector, owners of Nature’s Grocer, guide you through the wine dinner course by course and describe the various gluten free products in each selection. Pair your four-course enlightenment with select California wines that will compliment each food selection. At the price of $55.00 per person (tax and gratuity not included), this intimate experience will please any palate, gluten intolerant or not! (Please See Menu Below)
First Course
Shrimp Rockefeller Pizza
Gulf shrimp sautéed with baby spinach, coconut milk and a touch of Sambuca

Rodney Strong Chardonnay
Refreshing flavors of ripe pear and citrus, leading to a lush, creamy finish with hints of oak and spice
Second Course
Beet Salad
Chopped red beets tossed in mustard vinaigrette layered with goat cheese, borretane onions, micro greens and candied walnuts.
Jargon Pinot Noir
Smooth and silky texture followed by mild tannins
Third Course
Artichoke Pesto Gnocchi
Medallions of all natural chicken, pan seared and tossed in an artichoke pesto sauce
Hess Select Cabernet
Fruit forward aromas of black pepper and dark fruit
Dessert
Gingerbread Ice Cream Sandwich
Coconut ice cream sandwiched between two gingerbread cookies, served with caramel sauce.
